
The Hoofer Education Series is a series of workshops for Hoofer members, officers, and leaders, with many open to the community.
The Hoofer Education Series is a joint program of Hoofer Council and the Outdoor Programs Office. Hoofer Education Series workshops provide opportunities to further develop and acquire new knowledge and skills.
Workshops have included a range of topics including CPR/AED, wilderness first aid, avalanche awareness, fleet vehicle safety, trip planning, leader judgment and decision making, self-rescue for climbers, and more. Read on for ways to get involved and participate in workshops.
Find current classes by looking at the calendar at www.hoofers.org, or calling the Outdoor Programs Office at 608-262-1630. To suggest sessions, contact the email the Hoofer Council Education Coordinator or talk with a Hoofer Advisor.
Thousands of units of instruction are also provided each year by the Hoofer clubs. Check the club leaders or the Hoofer websites for more information.
To sign up for workshops
Come to the Outdoor Programs Office located in the Memorial Union or email the contact person for that workshop or the Hoofer Education Coordinator . You can also sign-up and pay by phone at 608-262-1630. Workshops with a fee requires payment at time of sign up. Cash, check, and Visa/MasterCard are accepted.
