Hoofer Advisors, working as part of the Outdoor Programs Office, provide support and resources to Hoofer leaders, including resources from the Wisconsin Union and the University and often act as liaisons for Hoofers within the university-at-large.

The primary purpose is to help student leaders to learn and further develop support for their clubs and their leaders, and help Hoofer leaders fulfill their missions. Hoofer advisors regularly advise, and work with, many executive members, club leaders, and other members on issues pertaining to the following:

  • Safety and risk management
  • Leadership development and education
  • Financial management
  • Fundraising
  • Marketing
  • Recruitment and retention of members
  • Club management
  • Program development
  • University policies and procedures
  • UW Fleet use
  • Personnel Issues
  • Give useful historical information
